Trust & Verification
How does verification work?

Every user must complete a 3-step verification: government ID upload, live selfie face match, and optional employment/education proof. Profiles remain hidden until all required steps pass. Optional steps add extra badges.

Which IDs are accepted?

Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, and voter ID are accepted for Indian users. International users can use passport or national ID.

Can I see unverified profiles?

No. All profiles visible to you have completed at minimum the government ID and selfie verification. This is non-negotiable.

What if someone's ID is fake?

We use DigiLocker integration for Aadhaar which verifies directly with UIDAI — it cannot be faked. PAN and passport are cross-referenced with official databases.

How do I report a suspicious profile?

Tap the flag icon on any profile. Our human moderators review within 2 hours. If confirmed, the account is banned and cannot re-register with the same ID.

Pricing & Subscription
What is always free?

Creating your profile, completing verification, browsing all matches, sending limited interests (5/month), replying to all messages you receive, using family mode, and the meeting safety toolkit are all permanently free.

Why do women get 50% off?

We believe balanced gender participation makes the platform better for everyone. Lowering the barrier for women to join creates a healthier ecosystem — and it's the right thing to do.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from account settings anytime. You keep premium access until the end of your current billing period. No hidden fees.

Is there a free trial?

The core product is always free — we don't do limited trials that auto-charge. We'd rather you upgrade because the product genuinely helps you.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. If you're not satisfied within 7 days of upgrading, contact support for a full refund — no questions asked.

What is the pricing for international users?

Plans adjust automatically at checkout based on your region. Indian pricing is as shown. International pricing is generally 10–25% of Indian pricing in purchasing-power-equivalent terms.

Family Mode
Can my family message people on my behalf?

No. Only you can send and receive messages. Your family's access is strictly read-only — they can view profiles and add notes to a shortlist, nothing more.

Can I keep my search completely private from my family?

Yes. Choose 'Hidden-from-family mode' and flag specific people as family members. They will not be able to find or view your profile.

How many family members can I invite?

Unlimited. Each family member gets their own read-only portal login. You can revoke individual access at any time.

Can family members talk to each other's families?

No. Family portal access is one-directional — your family can view profiles you share with them, but cannot contact the other family directly.

Does family mode cost extra?

No. Family mode is free on all plans, including the free tier.

Safety
How are my photos protected?

Your photos are blurred for everyone by default. Only users you explicitly approve can see them clearly. You can revoke photo access at any time.

What happens if someone screenshots my photos?

You receive an instant in-app notification. The screenshot is logged. Repeated screenshot behaviour may trigger a review or ban.

Is my phone number ever shared?

Never automatically. Your phone number is only shared if you choose to share it yourself, in a conversation. We never give it to other users or third parties.

What is AI scam detection?

Our system analyses message patterns, profile behaviour, and request types in real time to detect romance scam tactics, phishing attempts, and suspicious account behaviour. Flagged accounts are reviewed within 2 hours.

What is the meeting safety toolkit?

Before meeting someone in person, you can activate the toolkit from your chat: share your live GPS location with a trusted emergency contact, set timed check-ins (you confirm you're safe every X minutes), and trigger SOS if needed — which sends your location to your contact and calls emergency services.

Account & Privacy
Can I use the same account for matrimony and dating?

Yes. One account supports both modes. You control which mode is active and what is visible in each context. Your privacy settings are independent per mode.

Can I pause my account?

Yes. Pause mode hides your profile from all discovery. You remain logged in and can still browse, but no one new will see you.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days per our privacy policy.

Is my data sold to third parties?

Never. We do not sell personal data. We use anonymised, aggregated data only for improving match quality internally.

Can I use ShubhMilan on the web and mobile?

Yes. One account works on both web (shubhmilan.com) and the mobile app (iOS and Android). Your matches, messages, and settings sync automatically.

Refunds & Cancellation
How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel. For App Store or Google Play subscriptions, cancel directly through your device's subscription settings.

What is the refund window?

7 days from the date of upgrade. Contact support@shubhmilan.com with your registered email and we'll process your refund within 3 business days.

Are boosts refundable?

Boosts (Spotlight, Super Interest) are non-refundable once used. If you have unused boosts and cancel, contact support — we'll evaluate case by case.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your account and data remain active on the free tier. You lose premium features immediately but keep your profile, matches, and messages.
